Semester Course Grades 9-12 2.50 Credits
The Band performs at football games, parades, concerts, and clinics.
Among the objectives is
the understanding of traditional harmony, harmonic progression, the role
of rhythm, and styles of
music performed by bands. Socially, students are expected to relate their
efforts to the success of the
group and to gain an understanding of how their participation in a large
group contributes to the
creation of an artistic performance. Section rehearsals and extra practices
are mandatory to insure the
success of the group. Attendance at public and school performances during
the course of the year is
mandatory.

MUS130 CHORUS 1st SEMESTER
MUS131 CHORUS 2nd SEMESTER
Semester Courses Grades 9-12 2.50 Credits
Chorus is offered to all students who have a desire to discover
more about themselves through
singing. Students who enroll in chorus are not expected to know their voices,
since the course offersan opportunity to work with methods and techniques
of improving the vocal sound. Emphasis will be
placed on the highest quality vocal ensemble music attainable by the given
combination of students.
Attendance at public and school performances during the course of the year
is mandatory.

MUS505 HISTORY
OF ROCK MUSIC – 1960’S
AND 70’S
Semester Course Grades 10-12 2.50 Credits
This course is open to the serious enthusiast of classic rock music
of the 1960’s
and 1970’s.
Through a series of CD’s, videos, lectures and extensive internet searches,
each student will come to
discover the roots and sequential progression of classic rock music. A major
written project with a
formal oral presentation is a requirement of each student. Only those students
with a sincere love for
this style of rock music are encouraged to sign up.
